THE STORY
This is the kind of pattern a ruler commissions when he wants to prove his empire understands the universe.
Seven concentric bands radiate outward from a teal rosette, each ring governed by its own mathematical law. The innermost band holds paisley teardrops pointing inward like courtiers bowing to a throne. Beyond them, a lattice of crimson diamonds, each cradling a yellow floret at its center. Then sage-green fields dense with geometric tessellation. Then another diamond band, larger now, the pattern expanding as power does. Teal fan shapes radiate outward. Finally, the scalloped cobalt edge—trimmed in coral thread—crowns the whole.
In Samarkand and Bukhara, geometry wasn't decoration. It was theology, astronomy, proof of divine order. The sultans who built the Registan's facades believed that perfect pattern revealed perfect truth. This plate carries that belief forward: seven rings, each precise, each intentional, each building toward a whole greater than its parts.

For 35 years, Usta Ravshan has devoted his life to a single, perfect thing: the legendary ishkor glaze of Rishtan. In his workshop in Uzbekistan's Fergana Valley, he transforms local clay and natural minerals into the brilliant turquoise that has defined Central Asian ceramics for 800 years. Ravshan learned the craft from his father, who learned from his father—an unbroken chain of knowledge spanning generations. But he isn't just preserving the past; he's ensuring its future. In his workshop, he trains apprentices in techniques that must be learned through years of patient practice, not quick tutorials. What sets Ravshan apart is his range: geometric precision in radiating stars and mathematical tessellations, yet also romantic florals and paradise garden motifs. Each piece balances technical perfection with artistic expression—the mark of a true master.
