THE STORY
Ten thousand dots. Maybe more. Toxir stopped counting years ago.
This is the art of islimi—the infinite pattern—rendered not with brushstrokes but with thousands of individually placed raised dots. Each one applied with a fine brush dipped in glaze, building patterns through density and spacing alone. The technique comes from Bukhara, where ceramic artists developed it centuries ago as a way to create texture that catches light from every angle.
Against a jet black ground, golden bands inscribed with text curve around the composition: TASHKENT on one arc, additional lettering on another. At the center, a turquoise rosette radiates outward in a starburst of geometric precision—triangles, diamonds, scrolling arabesques, all constructed dot by dot. Coral florals with yellow centers punctuate the darkness. Orange fan motifs bloom at the rim, enclosed by cream pearls.
Run your fingers across the surface: you'll feel the texture of Toxir's 40 years of labor. One section near the bottom shows where he paused—the dots space slightly wider for two centimeters, then resume their rhythm.
Limited to 30 pieces worldwide. Each numbered and authenticated.
About the Artisan
Usta Toxir Haydarov

40+ years of mastery
At 64, Usta Toxir Haydarov has forgotten more about ceramics than most artisans will ever learn. For over 40 years, he's perfected a technique that transforms Bukhara's opulent aesthetic into tactile art: thousands of raised dots applied by hand, building into pomegranate trees, spiraling arabesques, and eight-pointed stars. Run your fingers across Toxir's work and you'll feel every hour of labor. Those aren't painted lines—they're individual raised dots, each placed with a tiny brush, building patterns through density and spacing. It's a pointillist technique that requires exceptional patience, steady hands, and absolute certainty. One misplaced dot disrupts the entire pattern. But Toxir isn't just technically skilled—he's a master of symbolism. Every pomegranate represents blessings multiplying. Every arabesque evokes paradise gardens. His pieces don't just decorate; they tell stories, bless homes, carry meanings that echo across centuries.
"In Bukhara, we don't just make plates. We write prayers in clay. The pomegranate is not fruit—it is a wish for abundance. The star is not geometry—it is a map of heaven. Every piece that leaves my workshop carries blessings I have placed there with my own hands."

Where Blue Becomes Legend
The brilliant turquoise that defines Uzbek ceramics began on the domes of Samarkand. For centuries, artisans have drawn from the same traditions that adorned the Registan's arches and the sacred tiles of Shah-i-Zinda.
